External Hard Drive Suddenly Not Recognized by Windows – Any Fixes?-Forum-Culture Informatique

Hi everyone,
I’m running into an issue that’s driving me a little crazy. My external hard drive (a 1TB WD Elements) has been working fine for months, but suddenly it’s not showing up in Windows File Explorer anymore. However, I can still see it listed in Device Manager and Disk Management—although it says “unallocated.”

I haven’t reformatted it or dropped it or anything, so I’m not sure what happened. I’m hoping to recover the data if possible. Does anyone have advice or tools (preferably free) that might help me get the drive working again or at least recover some of the files?

I’m using Windows 10 on a Lenovo laptop if that helps.
