A monkeytype is an assessment or exercise designed to measure a person’s typing speed, accuracy, and overall proficiency in using a keyboard to type written content. The goal is to evaluate how fast and accurately an individual can type a given set of words, sentences, or paragraphs within a specified time limit.
Typing tests often involve typing a predefined passage or series of words and sentences that can vary in complexity and length. The test-taker types the given content into a digital platform or on a physical keyboard, and the system records the number of words or characters typed per minute (WPM or CPM) and the number of errors made during the test.
