The safety issue only concerns those where data transfer is possible via USB, but modern solutions, for example, a mobile phone charging station, use only power, without data exchange. I have used such stations many times at airports and cafes – there have never been any problems. The main thing is to choose proven stations, and not to insert the cable into unknown ports. If in doubt, you can use your cable only for charging or a power bank. But if the station is officially installed in known places, most likely, it is completely safe.
