Yes, you can work in healthcare while waiting for your Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) registration, but only in limited roles. Typically, foreign-trained nurses who have secured a job offer may work under supervision or take on non-clinical support positions such as Healthcare Assistant or Patient Care Associate. These roles allow you to assist with basic patient care and support duties without performing independent nursing tasks. Your employer will usually help initiate the SNB registration process, which can take several months. However, you cannot practice as a fully licensed nurse or perform clinical nursing duties until your SNB registration is approved. Working beyond these limits without SNB certification is not permitted in Singapore’s healthcare system.
