I have a question for people who have lived in Abu Dhabi for a long time and know how the weather affects cars. I moved here from a much cooler country about two years ago and I’m still learning how to take care of my car in this heat. I drive a 2016 Toyota Camry and I had to replace the battery about fourteen months ago. Now the car is starting to crank slowly again, especially in the mornings, and I’m worried I might need another new battery already. Is it normal for batteries to die this fast in Abu Dhabi? Back home, a battery would easily last three or four years. I asked a friend and he said the summer heat here kills batteries much faster, sometimes in just one year. Another friend said I probably bought a cheap low quality battery and that a good one should last at least two years even in the heat. I’ve been looking into auto battery replacement in Abu Dhabi and I see there are many different brands and price ranges, from around 250 dirhams up to 700 dirhams. My question is – if I spend more money on an expensive battery, will it actually last longer in this climate, or am I just wasting money? Is there a specific brand that people in Abu Dhabi trust for lasting through multiple summers? Also, does parking in an air conditioned garage make a big difference compared to parking outside in the sun all day? I currently park in an open lot at work and at home. Please share your real experiences with how long your batteries have lasted in Abu Dhabi and what brand you use. I want to make a smart decision before I spend my money. Thank you.
