OfflineI’ve had my 2016 535i for about three years now and I’ve done oil changes regularly but honestly I’ve never touched the coolant. A buddy told me I’m playing with fire because the water pumps on these cars are already fragile and old coolant just makes it worse. I looked in the reservoir and the fluid still looks blue and clean but I know that doesn’t tell the whole story. I want to find a shop that does a proper flush with the vacuum fill tool instead of just draining whatever comes out of the radiator petcock. I’ve been searching for a Dedicated BMW Maintenance Service that actually follows the factory procedure because I’ve seen too many mechanics just pour new coolant in and call it a day. Does anyone know if the N55 is picky about which coolant brand you use? I’ve heard BMW coolant is just rebranded stuff but then others say mixing different types can cause gelling. Also what’s the interval supposed to be? I’m at 110k km now and getting a bit nervous honestly. Last thing I want is to be stuck on the side of Sheikh Zayed Road with an overheated engine in August. Any advice from people who’ve done this job properly would be awesome.
